Portfolio - A Vision Reimagined

POMPEII has become my springboard top focus on resilience and renewal after destruction. While painting, I’m conjuring a transcendent quality as well as sensory fragments that defy language.

I’ve been painting with oil paints over older works. I also work palette knives, discarded pieces of palette paper used to mix paints, paper towels and some of my former charred wood panels.

My process is to take a step back blending my own painting history under a new work. I realized that the gestation period of these new works were a lot longer than I realized. Works that were thought complete were still haunting me.

As it turns out I’ve been creating my archeological dig in my studio all along.

I make these paintings to articulate my sensory impressions and emotions through a historical lens. I wonder, where does it go from here?
